Lindsey Mackie left her native Yorkshire to study English at the University of East Anglia where she met her husband David. She now lives in Buckinghamshire.

ASO grew out of a short story 'Olim', the result of a trip to Norfolk. A powerful first novel.
An earlier short story 'Glory Hole' won the 'Adfam' writing competition. It was published in The Guardian in 2002 and read by Martha Kearney at St Brides in December of the same year.
Lindsey Mackie is not just a novelist and writer of short stories, she is also a talented musician. The CD entitled ASO that accompanies ASO is an album of her music. Music written by Lindsey and David Mackie.
